SEND AN EMAIL REJECTING BILL C-9 AS IT STANDS

CMPAC and the broader Muslim community are concerned about the Justice Committee’s decision to keep the the Bloc Québécois amendment removing the “good-faith” religious-text defence in the Criminal Code. Although a clarifying amendment was introduced, yesterday it does not address the ongoing concerns raised by civil liberties and faith based communities. Contact your MP today. Demand that they remove the proposed amendment repealing the “good-faith” religious-text defence and the complete withdrawal of the bill C-9. Send an email to your MP, Prime Minister Carney and the Justice Committee calling for the removal of the proposed amendment and to oppose Bill C-9 NOW.
